Noriyoshi Omichi of Daiei doubled home a tie-breaking run in a two-run fourth inning as the Hawks extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a 3-1 win over the Nippon Ham Fighters at the Fukuoka Dome on Friday night.

Trailing 1-0 in the fourth, Nobuhiko Matsunaka hit an RBI double to right-center field for a game-tying run with runners on first and third with one out. Omichi then doubled home a tie-breaking run with runner on first and third with two outs in the frame.
In the sixth, Hiroki Kokubo belted a solo homer, his 30th of the season, off Nippon Ham starter Tsuyoshi Shimoyanagi.
Junji Hoshino (8-6) gave up four hits over eight innings. Rodney Pedraza got his 20th save.

Daisuke Matsuzaka overcame a sluggish start and gave up six hits and two runs over eight innings for his eighth win this season, his first one since May 25, as Seibu rallied past Lotte at the Sapporo Dome.
Trailing 2-0 in the eighth, pinch hitter Tetsuya Kakiuchi hit an RBI double and Tatsuya Koseki hit a two-run single to help Seibu take the upper hand.

Tigers 10, Dragons 3
Tom Evans hit a two-run double in a three-run first inning and Kamisaka nailed a solo homer in the second inning as Hanshin beat Chunichi in a 17-hit batting fiesta at Koshien Stadium.
Masashi Date allowed four hits and two runs over six innings for his second win of the season.
Carp 10, Giants 5
Hiroshima scored three crucial runs on Yomiuri’s two errors in a five-run eighth inning to beat the Giants at the Tokyo Dome.
With the bases loaded and one out in the eighth, Eddy Diaz got a walk for a game-tying run. Yomiuri reliever Daisuke Kawamoto gave up a wild throw on Tomoaki Kanemoto’s grounder to allow two runs. Hiroshima then added two more runs on shortstop Tomohiro Nioka’s error and Itsuki Asai’s sacrifice fly for its 9-5 lead.
Yomiuri’s Kazuhiro Kiyohara drove in four runs, including a three-run homer in a sixth inning.
