The Finnish-Japanese coproduction stars Anne Watanabe as detective Aki Suzumiya whose “eidetic” memory helps her solve gruesome crimes, but her brother’s apparent suicide still eludes her. In Finland, detective Jon Laine (Jasper Paakkonen) is reeling from the death of his wife, in which it is insinuated he may have had a hand.
