Coulis (pronounced “coolie”) is a senior cat that originally found a home through ARK 13 years ago. Unfortunately, his owner has gotten older and can no longer care for him, so Coulis is back.

Friendly, sweet and easygoing, Coulis closes his eyes and relaxes completely when you stroke him. His name — a culinary term for a sauce made from pureed fruits or vegetables — may seem rather odd for a cat. Like his namesake, however, he is smooth and elegant, whether looking for cuddles or simply going about his day.

Though he might look like he “just dropped down from another planet,” Coulis is a friendly and easygoing cat that loves to be stroked.

Coulis was made to wear a cone around his neck in his former home. Though his fur and skin look a bit ragged now, his condition is expected to improve. At his age, he does what he wants, when he wants. He moves quietly, but with a sense of purpose or conviction.

“He often has a somewhat vacant look about him,” says one staffer, “as if he just dropped down from another planet. But he knows exactly which people to make a beeline to immediately. If he were a person, I think he’d be a fortune teller!”
